Supplement
Trans-Resveratrol
SaveTrans-resveratrol is the biologically active isomer of resveratrol, preferred in supplementation for its stability and SIRT1-activating capacity.
Quick verdict
The form that matters for resveratrol benefits. Same evidence profile as resveratrol but ensures you get the active isomer.
Evidence score
A rough internal score reflecting quantity, quality, and consistency of human evidence. Not a clinical recommendation.
What the research shows
Trans-isomer is the form active in SIRT1 assays and clinical trials. Cis-resveratrol has little biological activity. Light and heat convert trans to cis form. Same clinical evidence as resveratrol overall.
Benefits
- Biologically active isomer of resveratrol
- SIRT1 and AMPK activation
- Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant
Dosage notes
150–500 mg daily. Verify trans-resveratrol content on label, not total resveratrol.
Side effects
- GI discomfort
- Diarrhea at high doses
- Drug interactions
Who should be cautious
Same as resveratrol: CYP interactions, estrogenic activity, anticoagulant potentiation.
What this page cannot tell you
Product quality matters; look for trans-resveratrol content specifically. Store away from light. Bioavailability is still poor.
